For most groups the term teambuilding conjures up images of spirited tug of war and relay races, with one side claiming victory. Now The Ritz-Carlton offers groups a new opportunity at teambuilding where it’s a win-win for everyone including the local community.
VolunTeaming is the newest offering under the
Community Footprints social responsibility program.
The Ritz-Carlton properties in the United States, Caribbean and Mexico offer unique VolunTeaming activities benefiting the local community. Examples of half day and full day programs include:
- Harvesting organic crops at the renowned The Chef's Garden for donation to a local food bank (Cleveland)
- Improving the facilities of the Carpenter's Shelter which provides shelter for over 1,000 homeless children and adults, by making minor repairs, gardening and serving meals (Pentagon City)
- Building enclosures, landscaping, and preparing food for the animals at The Big Cat Habitat or supporting Mote Marine Laboratory through activities that help in the research and protection of marine life (Sarasota)
- Helping protect and preserve the historic gardens of Alcatraz Island, the beloved and historic National Park that gives San Francisco its historic sense of place (San Francisco)
- Working side-by-side with members of Habitat for Humanity to transform a building site into a home for displaced residents and impact the physical and social landscape of New Orleans, one of America's greatest treasures (New Orleans)
For groups with limited time, but still wanting the VolunTeaming experience, two hour on property programs are available:
